good morning all.  bought 2 6volt batteries yesterday, excited to get them hooked up.  just to confirm, in series right? (pods + to one of the batteries +; pods - to the other battery -; then open + to open -......correct?).  one final goofy question as my batteries have never been disconnected.  will electric work if the batteries are not hooked up?  I know, hog one should know this!!!!!Embarrassed  hogone

ummmm, "electric" won't work even if batteries ARE hooked up. I'm sure you know that, but i'm not sure what your'e asking. If I remove my battery (winter storage) and want power, I back the T.V. and hook up bargman, for DC or, I hook up to shore power for AC

Correct on the 'series'.

Curious what you did for a box. My 182g is too tight for the one I bought and need to modify a bit.. Base box fits nicely, it's the cover that 'wings' out too far.

I am curious on what you're asking too. If you don't have batteries and you don't have shore power, you have no electricity. If you disconnect battery(s) and have shore power, you have electricity. Disconnecting the battery with shore power effectively removes the charge circuit from the converter.

Yes. The outlets are 120.

True the 12V DC appliances will work without the battery when plugged in to shore power. However, the battery acts as a filter to clean up the dirty DC power from the converter. Lights and fans don't care but sensitive electronics do. Be careful with computers and similar devices.

Here is the battery box I have for my dual 6-volts.  Fits in the battery tray on the front of my 179.  I installed a battery cut off switch right on the top lid.
Thanks

If you do plug in your pod without batteries make sure that you insulate the positive lead where it connects to the battery.  you don't want to short out the converter.
