I am not a Lawyer, but here is an attempt to sort of define the situation - which could be placed in a new folder.  Any help/suggestions will be appreciated.

pHp podders Helping podders

What is it?

While all forum members are generally happy to help and advise other members (with posts on this forum) on Pods and general camping, pHp members volunteer themselves to go the “extra mile”. They display this designation to let you know that if you need or want help/assistance while in or traveling near their area, they are willing to help - one on one, as their own personal judgment and circumstances dictates.

Who can volunteer?

Anyone who is a registered user of the forum and willing to help other users. Interested members should send a Private Message to either the Moderators or Admin asking to be placed on the roster.

What do they do?

Volunteers may help in any way they feel is appropriate and reasonable with the utmost concern being given to individuals’ safety and security. Volunteers are under no obligation to help and do so as a “Good Samaritan” and at their own discretion. YOU, as a requestor, are under no obligation to accept any offered assistance and as such, hold any volunteer harmless.

Volunteers will generally help with emergencies on the road - courtesy telephone calls - to help locate necessary assistance, such as; tow trucks, local auto/truck service facilities, local RV repair facilities, locksmiths, medical or veterinary facilities, etc. They may also offer suggestions for preferred travel routes, “good” camping locations, points of interests, etc.

How does it work?

Any forum member may Private Mail (PM) a volunteer - in advance of anticipating being in the volunteer’s area - and request local information (as above) and/or emergency contact information, such as; a cell phone number, direct e-mail/messaging, etc. The volunteer will (again, at their discretion) provide information, as they deem appropriate. It is suggested that all parties divulge no more personal information than is required to render/receive assistance.

A word of caution:

Requestors and/or volunteers will abuse this only one time! It is expected that all persons involved conduct themselves with the highest level of honesty, integrity and compassion for their fellow camper.

I moved this post out of the original pHp thread so it would be easy to find.

This forum is readable by all, but only pHp members and mods can post here.  If you want to be a pHp'er please PM me.
