Seems every dealer may offer different TV options, but on mine I can simply run a RCA to mini cable from audio out on TV to AV in on Jensen Head unit. Put the Jensen in AUX mode and I'm good to go.
Does that make sense? fred

Fred, you and I bought our 178s about the same time with delivery sometime in November, if I remember correctly. Assuming your pod came with a single yellow video cable between the TV's video in and the Jensen (head's) video out, they came set up identically. That is fine for viewing DVDs on the TV.
All I was trying to tell is that to hear the TV audio through the Jensen (head), I must run audio cables between the audio outputs on the TV to the audio input on the Jensen (head). This can be achieved by either of the two alternatives I gave. I believe you and I are saying the same thing, or are we? Sometimes my "simple" approach becomes more complicated than it need be. I value comments from podders like you that have resolved the problem. Bob |

We have a 2013 unit and it has an aux in (3.5mm) on the face plate. We connect a 3.5mm male-male to the headphone out of our tv directly to the aux in on the face plate. put the jensen on aux 2 and off we go.

Yep Todd, that'll work too. I just didn't happen to have a male mini-mini so I used what I had in my box 'O wires. Of course, we all should be outside instead of inside watchin TV!

Very true Fred! It does help though on those days with the sun is not so shiney and the pod is the only dry place in town! Well, dry in the sense that its not wet! The cooler is always full of the good stuff!

I tried using the RCA to 3.5mm? mini connector from the audio-out ports on the TV to the audio in on the Jensen, but still did not get the TV sound from the sound system speakers.
Looking at the menu options on the TV there is an option to enable the audio-out, but on my TV that option is grayed out.
For those of you that have made this work, did you have to enable the audio out from the TV?

Hi TR,
If somebody doesn't beat me to it, I'll try to snap some pics how it work's on my unit tomorrow evening we we arrive we're we're going. Yes, there is a TV menu option to choose audio output, but I don't recall right now. Also, of course, you need to have the Jensen stereo set to AUX. If using the headphone jack and AV input on Jensen stereo, you don't have to make any TV menu changes. fred

I copied Fred's hook-up and did not have to use the menu options.
