Lots of people have cut access panels for their winterizing, makes it a lot easier.
One thing though, I was tired of the screws too so I left mine out this past season. At least on our bed and the way it's framed that piece of plywood now slides off one of the support rails during trips and ends up dipping down in between where it's supposed to be. So we ended up with loud pops or dips in the bed every time it shifted. Next spring my screws go back in and stay in!

Just a reminder, you also have access to the valves from the left side rear storage area access panel. It is a pretty tight squeeze however!!!!!!!!!!!! Just make sure you lube up with some vaseline first!! Happy Thanksgiving to all. hogone

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like I will put my screws back and I get to cut on my brand new pod. Just have to remind myself to put the saw down and stop cutting.

I left my screws out the first fall and never put them back in. No problem with the plywood shifting or falling.

I'm with techntrek. Don't really see a need for the screws. Besides, it makes it easier for me to take out the platform, cut it up and put it back while I figure out how I'm going to make the daybed/queen/convertible.
Happy Overeating Day!

I like your setup there. You have got me thinking how I can best use the space under the bed. Thanks for sharing your pic.

Might just be the way the sheet of plywood is cut on the 181g beds perhaps.
