One thing I like about the flip foot is the shape of the pad. Since the ends are turned up, it should not do what the round, adjustable pad/extension that came with our JackQuick electric jack did. That is, when I raised our R-Pod on a blacktop driveway, the flat, round foot tilted a little and started digging into the blacktop of the place where we were staying. I sure did not anticipate that! I think part of the problem was that the paving was not that old and it appeared to not have been compressed sufficiently when it was rolled out. It was not that hot, but the pavement was rather soft. The shape of the flip foot would minimize any tendency to dig in since it does ot have a sharp edge on the front or back sides I was able to move the paving back into place and use a board under the jack foot to compress it back into place, so there was no significant damage. I did learn not to do that again. If there is any doubt, put something under the foot. |
