We live in Escanaba so we're only about an hour away from Marquette and about 3 from the Keweenaw. I'm an avid mountain biker so I go up to Marquette often. We have a camping trip planned for the The Keweenaw, Marquette, Tahquamenon Falls, and a few other places throughout the UP.

Congrats! I would be very interested to hear how your FJ Cruiser tows your new 179.

I have a 4Runner (V6) and test drove a 171 last week. Went pretty well, but was disappointed that my 4Runner does not have an overdrive off button. Engine power was not an issue, but the transmission liked to jump back and forth between 4th and overdrive.

I'll try to keep this updated so people know how the FJ pulls it. We might be pulling it again in the next couple of weeks, depends on the weather. Its wierd that the 4Runner doesn't have away to keep it locked in 4 vs OD.  My concern right now is that the FJ is already starting to sag too much in rear and we don't even have our dog and gear in the back. I'm pretty sure my fresh water tank is in the front of the pod too. The FJ has softer springs for flexing off road so I'm starting to think a WDH with sway bars would be wise especially with the shorter wheel base.
