Topic: I'm thinking of change the mattress Posted: 30 Jul 2011 at 1:54pm |
Having never slept on a RV mattress that was really comfortable, we opted for some custom ones in the AS, and just as soon as we knew we were going to buy furpod, we ordered a new euro pillow top from camping world.. caught a sale even!

We use the RPod mattress an put our camping Thermarest mattresses under it. Makes a firmer mattress with a good firmer "box spring" foundation. It also uses items tha would just moudler away otherwise.

They now have a Canadian website:http://www.bedinabox.ca/memory-foam-mattresses.html (It's the same site with a different address) Shipping should be cheaper now, my understanding is that for Canadian customer they ship from Canada now, ours still came from the States. Give them a call, doesn't cost anything....

We had a memory foam topper we used with a prior mattress at home, and when we got a new one that included a pillow topper the memory foam was put in storage. When we got the 'pod we pulled the cover off the 'pod's mattress and put the memory foam on top, then recovered it. My wife likes it better than the $$$ mattress in our bedroom! I'm undecided - it's comfortable but its not perfect.

Where I live we have a place that make the mattress for us the size we want and it's a extra of 50 $ of the regular price.
For example : Is a queen size cost 600$ regular size, it'll be 650 $ .
I think that it's worth the 50 $ but for this year I think that i've bust my camping budget !

I am waiting to finding one too. I don't mind paying for one, if it does the trick. However, today we bought an eggshell foam pad queen size from walmart and it fits perfectly! We are going to be camping for the next week and its gotta help! Hubby didn't want to get it, and I told him we could double it up and he didn't have to sleep on it. LOL
