Don't disagree, all run with 1 lb with adapter. Have mine because it is compact. No argument, I have an extra tank I carry.

1) I want to get the fire pit going, and was going to do it today, but, it snowed.
2) I will video it, but, Like the post i saw here before, said it would be easier to set up billboards along every road........ than figure out how to post here.
3) Mcarter? your pit runs on a 1 pound can? 65000 btu? wow, mine is 58000 btu and they say a 20 pound  tank lasts 11 hours. A 1 pound must run out in less than 1/2 hour?

I have a CAMCO Lil Red propane pit, very small and self contained, what I liked about it was it's rated at 65000 BTUs, has an 8' foot hose and a cooktop is available, runs off a 1lb bottle with adapter. Takes up no space in back of truck. Perfect for two folks in the evening.

The tank for my son's firepit gets so cold it froze the grass it was sitting on and it took weeks to recover.  He now sets it on a rock and the problem is solved.

I received the Outland fire bowl propane fire pit wednesday. It's nice looking, and looks well made. I got the 19 inch model and they say it can run 11 hours on a 20 lb tank. I'm gonna fire it up on the deck later and see how it goes.

My first interest in a propane pit was last 4th of july. It absolutely poured. We scurried into the dome and were cozy, but, the across from us was sitting under his awning, with a fire. I was envious. I kinda forgot about it until one night this fall when I stayed in the casino lot, and a class A across from us had their propane pit going. I thought how nice it was to be able to just have a fire like that. Long story short, I have been thinking about it since. Just HAD to do it. But thought i'd atleast ask if there are any reason it's a bad idea. I think i might want to get a second 20 pound tank on the tongue.

Mjilrod,

I have a 4 port propane valve with a 5' and 12' hose Part # 59123, I can run grill, or another propane device and an auxillary tank, mounts on your present tank. Lot of the big coaches have them.
