Topic: surge protectors Posted: 10 Jan 2015 at 10:33am |
Just wondering if you have a surge protector on the site post, what do you use to keep the surge protector from growing legs and walking away... I think I prefer the kind not hard wired into the trailer.

Well, I have a compact surge protector that works for me and it was only $70.00 so if I do lose it, I'm not out several hundred. It's small enough so you can't really see it when the lid is down on the box.
It looks like the price has gone up since I bought mine.

I put in a Progressive Industries hard-wired surge protector under the sink. It's a bit pricey and involves some work to install, but after that you never have to think about it again.
You could figure out a way to lock your cord and surge protector together and lock them to the pod frame, but there's probably no way to make sure it won't walk off.

I'd like to hear from anybody that has lost a surge protector...is it really that big of a problem? Holler out if some jerk has jacked your surge protector!
ron_whitt, not trying to jack your thread, I do think the question is relevant to the subject. Thanks for bringing this up.

Sorry to vent a little but: Who decides how long a question says on the main board before being put into the section that it belongs in. I raised this surge protector querry just the other day and bang its gone from the main board. But other questions have been there weeks it seems. If folks don't see the question and they have info on it how can they contribute. Again I apologize.

Ron -- Your question is probably for Doug, but I don't understand. If you are taking about this thread, to my eyes it's right where it's always been. But I don't even know what the main board is. I almost always click on "New Posts" and I see everything within the time limit I select. They are divvied up by forum, but I look at post titles more than I pay attention to what forum they are in.
I don't think this thread has moved, but maybe it has. I think it's a good idea for the moderator to put a note on the thread if/when he moves it, which I have seen Doug do on other occasions.

I'm confused too. I usually do add a note if I move a thread. Sometimes it takes a while before I notice if one is in the wrong area.
Can you clarify what "main board" is, and what thread you posted that was moved?

Sure Doug, by main board I mean the screen that first comes up and on the right side is (what I thought) were recent questions. And I must apologize because I never noticed the "new Posts" button at the top. But Doug thankyou for looking after this forum, you do a super job and I've learned a lot from your suggestions and experience.

When you are on the home page the items on the right side are the most recent post in each sub-forum.
