We have had a long journey camping. First with tent, then popup, then TT, then small 5th, then diesel TV with large 5th, then 36' Diesel pusher.
Less is more. We are now enterering the world of minimalst camping. Our large library of books is now on Kindle. Our food needs are less as we are on a ketogenic lifestyle with minimal carbs. Our life expectations are fewer.
Formerly from New Orleans, our 36' Diesel Pusher was our hurricane escape vehicle, when Katrina came, it became our home for three months... then the following year, became our home as we moved 55' above sea level just across the Louisiana state line to Picayune, MS. This is a nice little town. We bought two acres, and lived in the RV while building a large barn with apartment -- we call it the barndominium.
We moved in the barn and built a large house. We spent a few years getting settled, then realized, we really did like the RV life and the "getting away" part.
Our DP pulled a Honda Pilot toad. To sweeten the deal, we sold the Pilot with the DP. It was rigged with air brakes and full light connections, as well as towing baseplate. After two years with a VW Diesel Jetta Sportwagen, we switched back to a larger SUV that had some tow capacity. Paw Paw Camper City is based in Picayune and is an R-Pod dealer. So we have been driving past them for several years. This year, we go serious and made the jump... put money down on the 171. There is just DW and myself so all we need are the queen and a/c. Bath is nice. We want to keep the two weight down to be able to take this anywhere we took the DP.
Sorry.... did not mean to write a book. Thanks to the owners of this site for setting it up.
