I just got back form a 14 day trip. This is the longest trip I have ever taken with the Pod. I put over 2200 miles on the pod. We left Fredericton, New Brunswick in the afternoon of Aug. 6th. We drove to Houlton Maine and stayed overnight at a campground called "My Brothers Place". This was a great campground. Large grassed campsites and the park was almost empty at the start of the week. We set up and my wife went shopping at the local stores for some things that we needed.

The next day we headed south to Old Orchard Beach Maine. We stayed at the Old Orchard Beach family campground. This campground was older and crowded and filled mostly with seasonal campers. It was a little like camping in a gravel parking lot. We spent the night down at the beach and my wife went shopping at the tourist shops on the beach.

The next day we drove to the Kittery Maine oulet stores then on through  Massachusetts. We had Dinner at a Cracker Barrel store outside of Boston. This is the Pod parked in their parking lot. We kept on going on into New York and through Albany we did not find a campground we liked before dark so we stayed overnight at a Roadside Rest on I90.

The next day Thursday we drove to Syracuse NY where my wife did some more shopping (starting to see a theme here)

After shopping we drove to the Watkins Glen International Speedway for the NASCAR weekend. We go every year and camp in the infield.

We were at the track from Thursday to Sunday and took in Grand Am, NASCAR Nationwide, and NASCAR Sprint Cup series races.

On Monday Aug 13 we drove to London Ontario Canada to visit a Friend of my wife's and stayed at the London KOA. On the 14th we Drove to Peterborough Ontario Canada and Stayed at Beavermede Park until Saturday the the 18th This is a wonderful park on a lake in the middle of town. Can you believe that these pictures are in the middle of a city of 75000 people. The only downside is that they do not have onsite sewer hookups so you have to hookup and tow the trailer to the dump site when your tanks are full. For that reason I did not put up the Rdome because I knew I would have to dump before I left.

On Saturday we left Peterborough and started to home through Quebec and stayed at the KOA in Coteau Du Lac Quebec. We Traveled all day Sunday and got home at 2:30 AM Today.

Now I need a Vacation from my Vacation. Tongue

Nice!  I wasn't too far from your stop in Maine, last year.  We stayed in Ogunquit, Maine for a week.  I like the area but too cool for summer, for me.

There are options for portable waste tank dumping if you don't want to hook up and take the whole camper to the dump station.  There are totes that will hook onto your hitch which you can then slowly tow to the dump station instead.  Of course you are then dumping it twice - first into the tote, then into the ground...

If you're ever that far west again, try Killarney. They have some gorgeous sites and there's lots of kayaking and canoeing if you're into that sort of thing.

We stayed at a campground in Bar Harbour Maine and highly recommend that area too.

Are those your puppies I see next to the pod?

yes I thought of that but I did not know where I would store the portable tank.

Nice photos! Looks like great trip - friends, camping, shopping - is there a better life???

Maybe we can get a NY/NH/VT roundup next year???

How was the border crossing getting into and out of the US?

Easiest border crossing into the US at Houlton Maine I have ever had and we had no problem getting back into Canada at Niagara Falls either although the crossing at Niagara was the funniest I have ever had. When we pulled up the the booth the Canadian Customs official is looking board and leaning back in his chair he asks us our citizenship and why we were in the States. We told him and then he asks us how long we planned to stay in Canada. My wife and looked at each other and said forever since we are Canadian. I think the guy was so embarrassed at being caught not paying attention that when we declared a value of purchases in excess of what we were allowed to bring in he just waived us on anyways.
