Fantastic Idea, I have been using vice grips with a rope tied to it. It works but your solution is permanent and sure looks a lot better.

Definitely a nice addition.  My suggestion is much lower tech.

It is 1/2" aluminum rod, I made a slit in it on my tablesaw, put it in my drillpress to round off the ends, drilled two holes in it, than I slid it on the vinyl strip and put 2 screws in it.  
If you want something done right, do it yourself.

That is a good idea!  I don't have the tools to make something like that but I'll find something that will work.
