I personally think the Alto Safari from Canada is "perfect." It has a king sized bed. wow. It is also expensive (light weight tho) and if you're American you can't get one.

yizit- The one I looked at sounds like the one you had....over 300lbs tongue weight. I it was a 2007 model that had not sold and they were willing to sell it for right at 8K. It's kind of a shame because I had bought more than once from that Dealer (local-Indy) and liked them. My old 5th wheel was a Sportsman - made by KZ (purchased from them) and I was happy with it.

David, that's what we had and we traded it in for the R-pod. Bought the Coyote in August and traded it in February for the Pod. The price for the coyote was reasonable. The tongue was heavy, and it felt very roomy inside because of the extra width (loved the full queen size bed tho). We wanted the bunks for storage and a place to sit. Not to mention we really liked the look of the R-pod. The bad thing about the coyote were the small holding tanks. Black was only 11 gals. If you gotta have something that small then they should put in a cassette potty. Those are easier to dump.

If there is, I have not seen it. It is fun to look, however. Before I bought my Pod I looked at a 13' Coyote and the price was very reasonable. However, it was a little too wide and tongue heavy. With no "co-pilot", mirror vision is especially important for me.

I agree the weight is more then we were looking for. We wanted something light and small, altho a real queen size bed would have been great. Our last TT, KZ Coyote Sport, had a full size queen bed..great. But with that extra width we had to have bigger mirrors too. Is there really a perfect trailer out there????

"alum sided...prob wood not alum framing"
Admin - Party pooper! I think I like the other Doug better.
If I didn't already have a Pod, I would want to see this. It looks to be maybe 4" wider??? Not sure if I would gain a whole lot, but would still like to see one. 7' wide would be about ideal for me. The Pup is supposed to be 79" vs. the pod's 75" (I think).
There are just way to many campers to choose from.

I noticed a gross vehicle weight of more than 3,800 lbs. I bought my R-Pod because I wanted a light-weight TT. Getting ready to travel (gear, etc.) would start to get the weight up 4000+. With a Class 3 rating of 5,000 lbs (300 tongue) on my TV, I would start to worry about having to buy a much larger tow vehicle to have a safe towing rating.

Wow! The Wolf Pup T17P looks darned interesting. It has the same floorplan as my RP173 - but a little wider and a standard awning. As an added bonus, it has a decal that looks like my dog!
Let's see....where did I leave my checkbook????
