Hello everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself. Just bought a POD 179. Retiring from the military after 35 years of service, and I'm excited to hit the road. My travel companion will be my K-9. Headed southwest for the winter. I guess I'm officially a snowbird! Hope to never see snow again, unless it's my choice. I want to thank each of you. You have no idea how much you helped me make my purchase. I want to thank you in advance for answering my questions. I'm sure I will have many. This is my first TT. Does anyone have any experience with the go solar? I can get a 120 watt for 540. Thoughts please! Again thank you!

Thank you for your service to this fine country!!!!!!!!!  I even took off my "Make America Great Again" hat in your honor just now.  Sorry to post w/o answering your query but had to say that and also that I just spoke to my brother who spends the winter just north of Tuscon, AZ and told me it was 76 today, and can see the snow in the mountains, and that is the way he likes it.  A bit cooler here in northern Michigan, currently 6 degrees and have received about 8" of that white stuff in the past couple of days.

That would be an honor!  After our son got out of Afghanistan in 2013 we were quite thrilled to have him on home soil and in one piece.  He told me after his 13 months there (2nd time) that he would never camp and would never live near an airport.  The roar of jets day in and day out at Khandahar and the other base (can't remember it right now) wore mighty thin after that long of a stay.  I like your name WW2@1941.  Taught a Sunday School class and one member in that class of 50 or so was an army veteran from WW II.  He is now 96 and still sharp and can still fit in his uniform, pretty impressive!

WOW that's awesome. I have a special place in my heart for the vets of WW2. My father was in WW2, fought under General Patton. 2 tours Afghanistan is difficult. I appreciate you son's service! I hope he has a recovery some day. War is tough! Once you've done it. You'll never be the same. You can't explain it! It changes you forever. I'm believing for you sons healing.

Hi and welcome! We full-time and love the 179 layout and storage. No doubt that you and your puppy will be happy! We use 100w Renogy portable solar panels. My husband changed the plug to an Anderson to match the trailer receptacle. Works very well for us. Happy trails!

Congrats.  I always recommend going with at least 100 watts so 120 is good.  You might check out individual component prices, likely cheaper than the pre-assembled system.
