In my thread "New Solar Power System for Rpod" (a quite extensive thread with many photos), I attempted to reply to that earlier posting by choosing "Quote Rustler". Since I didn't want to repeat the entire quoted text and photos I deleted the photos and text that were not pertinent to my reply. This deleted content was between the two [Quote] markers. Much to my surprise this ended up deleting most of the content in the original posting I was replying to.
What did I do wrong?

I can't be certain. Above I randomly deleted some of your post text. The only thing I can suggest is to be sure NOT to delete any of the stuff that looks like: DIV or /DIV or /QUOTE, etc. UPDATE: I tried putting "quote" marks around the above DIV, /DIV and /QUOTE and it messed things up in my reply. So, the software is picky about the quote marks. |

There is a preview option you can use to see what it will look like before you post, that should help.
