Welcome. No need to apologize for not owning a pod, we have people here that don't.

The strength of the 179 is the kitchen and indoor storage. For the 178 its the huge rap around dinette and more outside storage.

Welcome to the group! Excellent advise from Jato, spend some time, lay on the beds, try all the appliances etc, you will get a feel for the one you like!

Spend some time in each unit, kick off your shoes, lay on the bed, go through the drawers, look at the storage available, see which layout suits your needs the best. For the two of us, we chose the 177 back in December 2010, never been disappointed in our decision.
