Hello All
We are on our 2nd trip. New to camping and RVing and very excited about the r-pod.   I camped as a kid with my parents but nothing since, and the since has been quite a long time but we won't go there.  I have done quite a bit of boating which is surprisingly similar so that has been a real help.  Our pod has been named Lilly by our friends and it seems like that name is sticking.

We are staying in Mendocino CA while attending Beth attends a art class at the art center here.  Last night another r-pod pulled in two sites down. Fun to go and meet and compare.   Enjoying spying on everyone's toys , grills, table etc. trying to see what they have devised to enjoy this mode of entertainment.  We  keep saying, we need this and we need that and really we don't need anything.  Haha.

These are our practice trips as in July two of our grandkids 6 & 12 will be joining use for a week of camping.  Thought we should iron out a few things before attempting on-boarders.

Both of us are in the computer field and that makes us always in design mode.  I also am a woodworker and so this trip I brought drawing paper for starting to design mods.  One thing the 178 does not have is convenient  inside storage.  We probably walked back and forth looking at the 178 and 179 about 50 time.  I wanted the storage and galley of the 179 but just couldn't get comfortable in the dinette.   But no looking back now we love our choice.  And I have lots of project and you know what projects mean... new tools.  lol

I've already gotten so much from this forum. Thanks to everyone.  What ever did my parents do when they were starting this without the ability to just log on and find 50 options and suggestions.

Welcome to the forum.
You will love your Pod. and you will also love changing it, adding to it and making it more efficient for your use.  The R Pods have a great base to work from.  As you said earlier, you don't need anything-the R Pod is pretty well equipped as it comes from the factory.  but, for a lot of us there is a lot of pleasure derived from modifying the pod.

As a wood worker you now have an opportunity to use your skills.  Look through all of the past Mods section and you will see literally hundreds of things other owners have done. a lot of the mods are efficiency oriented, some personal and some mechanical.

The forum is friendly and very knowledge.  ask questions and share  your knowledge. I'm sure there are boating practices that cross over to podding.

Have fun
Vannf
