The first mod I'll be doing is replacing the fold-down step with the SMFP-2100 dual steps.

Welcome to the group!

My wife and I recently purchased a 2016 179 and it is the perfect fit for us and our dog. I have done several mods to ours and if you will look thru the mods section you will find numerous helpful hints, tips and mods from other podders.

Happy flying!

Thanks for the welcome, all.

I'll be towing it with a 2012 Toyota Highlander V6. I had the foresight to get the tow package and have the hitch receiver installed when I purchased it.

Alan, good choice.  Be prepared to give tours.  We have had our 177 since 2011 and it is a rarity for us to go somewhere and NOT give a tour of our pod.

Welcome.  My wife is in Dallas this weekend for a conference.  Check out the link in my signature for some light reading.

Hi, all.

My wife and I attended the Dallas RV Super Sale yesterday and signed a contract to purchase an RP-179. This will be the first travel trailer I've dealt with since my parents' HiLo back in the the '80s. I've never driven one this large, so it will be a new experience.

I fly RC helicopters and the main reason I wanted a travel trailer was to be able to stay on-site at events instead of dealing with motels.

I look forward to participating in the forums.

Alan
