In our youth we were back pack campers. As time passed we graduated to tent / van camping. It was great for that time in our life.

Tent camping

We started talking about a small travel trailer on our last very late season camping trips this past fall. We knew that a large RV was not what we were interested in. We still like to camp! But, we also liked the idea of being able to camp in a little more comfort. The R-Pod looked like the perfect camper for us and we began looking at all of the options.

We finally settled on the 177 and found a great deal in Klamath Falls, OR at Courtesy RV and bought a new 2015 177 over the phone. The following week we drove from Boise to Klamath Falls to pick up our new R-Pod.

The first sighting at Courtesy RV was a line-up of seven R-Pods all pulled up to the front of the open mechanics garage. After meeting Mike (a giant) and Nate they pulled our 177 out of the line-up. Dan the man gave us a thorough run down off all systems talking straight for about three hours. First all the outside details, switched, levers, hoses, storage compartments and finally the inside.

Hooked up - silly smiles - heading to Diamond Lake. Looking at our shadow; then in the rear view mirror; don't we look swell.

Our new Pod at Diamond Lake.

Let the fun begin.

We have learned a lot from all of you!!!

Thanks so much.

Welcome to the "Pod World" from Cascade ID.  We bought our 2015 179 from Nelson's last Dec.  Since March we have been in 7 states, 50 nights and traveled over 4000 miles in the "Dutch Pod". Again welcome to this great site, and seeing how we are only 80 miles apart, I'm sure we'll cross paths.

SmileSmile On Feb 25th, we leave for Cottonwood AZ, then have to be in Eureka CA on Apr 9th for or niece's wedding.  Then to Portland to visit family.  Should be back in Cascade on Apr 20th.  Only 5 states and 56 nights in the pod.  In May we'll be in Coeur d' Alene for "Pods on the Island", then planning on being in the Black Hills in July for another Pod gathering. So that will be another43 nights and 5 more states for the year.

Good news to hear about your 2016 adventures. Tell us more about the Coeur d' Alene for "Pods on the Island" event. We have been wanting to get up north.

Thanks,
Jeff & Nancy

WinkWinkLog onto r-pop owners face book page, look under the events, and you will see "Pods on the Island"
May 13,14 & 15, this is in Coeur d' Alene ID.  Just follow the instructions that Jim Felder has.  Also there is information On the "Pods in the Wild West", in the Black hills of SD, we have one entire campground booked and part of the one across the street, the dates for that one are July  14.15,16 & 17. That one will be easy as our Good Sam Chapter  is leaving on July 6th, for our yearly long trip.  We'll just out Custer, the day that they return is July 14, I'll just change campgrounds.  I hope this helps
