I am very grateful to have found this forum. Finding it last fall would have been better.... My wife and I first saw this Rpod thing in the fairway at the Shipshewana Flea Market last summer. I stepped into the model on display and decided that I really liked the look, size and layout. I did some research and was impressed with the construction and the company. That's where it ended.

September rolled around and out of the blue my wife says "Let's go look at trailers". She was still thinking about that little rounded end 'cute' one she saw at the flea market. We found a local dealer that carried the Rpod and went in an hour before closing to "look". Within 40 minutes she was filling out paperwork and we were the proud owners of a new 178.

Three weeks later, some work (a lot of work) on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport and we were ready for the maiden voyage. The first week of October in Michigan can be...challenging. The trip started out late, high winds, rain and COLD!!!!. I was really impressed that at 10pm, in the rain with little light we were able to get setup, hooked up and the furnace going in 15 minutes (try that with a pop-up). We stayed the whole weekend and this little Rpod went way beyond our expectations. Everything bad hit that weekend and we were snug as bugs in a rug.

We have been out three times this season and always get comments on the neat little camping trailer. We're always on the lookout for another Rpod in the campground. We are looking forward to many years of use out of this little gem. I guess now we have to find a name for the little guy. Looking forward to new ideas and answered questions on the Forum. Didn't know what a podder was but now I find out, we're Podders.

Welcome.  We also saw our first Rpod at the Shipshewana flea market and went back to Outpost RV in Middlebury to compare the 178 & 179 side by side.  That's where we bought our 179.

Congrats.  If you read all of the posts here one will suggest that if you camp with full hookups, you should invest in a little ceramic heater.  Plug it in and save the propane and they are almost silent, as compared to our LP powered heaters.  Lots more for you to read and add to your pod. Enjoy and safe travels.

...and reading the forum every evening I do, Camper Bob. Thank you for the heater suggestion. I have gotten a lot of other info as well. On another note, if any of you have followed the young couple from MO: Go for Broke, here on the Forum, you will know their story. We were pleased to host them this weekend in our home and sent them off this morning with hugs and waves to yet another adventure. We have been loving our personal little camping adventures in our Pod and just came back from our 5th outing with trip #6 already in the planning. We don't have a name for our camper, we just call it The Pod. We are from Northern Calif (as in waaaaay northern) and would love to "run in to" any of you any time.

Ours was always just "the pod" too. Never could settle on an official name.
