First, let me express my appreciation to all of you who share your experiences here at the forum. You have been a plethora of information and insight into the R-Pod world!
I am evolving from the backpack ultra light world, to tent glamping, and now the luxury of my new 2016 R-Pod 179, or as I like to refer to it as The Odd Pod! And I love it!
My first trip was a little more extreme than most would suggest, and packed out with a friends gear in my car, but I felt confident in my setup. With your help and opinions, I chose a WDH and sway bars. I also put a good digital brake on with adjustment capabilities for the high country. I had no issues with the R-Pod quality, everything worked as advertised!
I climbed up and over the Sierras using Sonora Pass (hwy 108), some areas the grade is 25% and curvey! I camped at high elevation (10,000') in the Virginia Lakes area, no hookups, 4 days. and all your suggestions rolled around my head as I kept an eye on battery and propane (thanks again!). Came back Tioga Rd. (hwy 120) YNP. What a wonderful first experience!
I plan to be traveling across country next spring and summer ending in New England where friends and family dwell.
Looking forward to seeing you on the road and in the forum!
Happy Trails!
