Another vote for LTX. I put my second set of 265/60R18 LTX M/S2 on my 4Runner just before I pulled the pod across country and back. $229.25 a tire. Great sneakers!

Had them on my Taco and loved them, still had tons of life in them when I turned it in, had 70K on them. I liked them enough to put them on my old Expedition too. When the Goodyears on the new eX bite it, LTX's it will be. |

I would think for a 176, either P or LT should do just fine. Most I have seen of either are of a load range E in your size.
On TireRack.com all the OEM tires for the 2009 Tacoma are: LT245/75R16 120/116S E; Which means 3086/2756 lbs carry capacity at max pressure. On my vehicle, I have Cooper Discoverer AT3 265/60R18 110T Std Load (2337 lbs), and have not had any issues. Some folks here even tow with minivans or other non-SUV (or truck) based tires and do just fine. What I would more concerned about is having a WDH to distribute some of the load to the front axles/tires if you don't already use one. |

NLPod, for your Tacoma, you might consider the Michelin LTX M/S 2. I've used Michelin tires over more than half a million miles on several vehicles, and I've always been delighted with performance and longevity.

just wondering what type of tire people have on their tow vehicle. I have a v6 4x4 Tacoma and need new tires, just wondering if I should get p series or lt tires. I have a 2014 RP176.
Thanks
