It won't come off unless you remove the caulk around it.

Many drill a small hole in the bottom of the lense and just allow the water to drain, there's no servicing it aside from replacing it.

just set out on a couple day trip first use of new RPod 179.  It rained one evening and I noticed one of the tail lights was half full of water.  It appears to be sealed well and no cracks in the lense.  I removed the screws that appear to hold it in place but lense didn't come off.  Thought I would try and drain water.  It still works but I want to get down to the reason for it happening.  Does it not come off unless you cut the clear caulking seal?  Has anyone had the same experience?  Thanks for the help and input.

Missouri Matt
