just set out on a couple day trip first use of new RPod 179.  It rained one evening and I noticed one of the tail lights was half full of water.  It appears to be sealed well and no cracks in the lense.  I removed the screws that appear to hold it in place but lense didn't come off.  Thought I would try and drain water.  It still works but I want to get down to the reason for it happening.  Does it not come off unless you cut the clear caulking seal?  Has anyone had the same experience?  Thanks for the help and input.

It won't come off unless you remove the caulk around it.

Many drill a small hole in the bottom of the lense and just allow the water to drain, there's no servicing it aside from replacing it.

The left one on my 178 does the same thing. Like Travis said I just drilled a small hole in the lens for it to drain but I am gonna try to get it replaced at Goshen in August.

Ditto here.  Driver's side taillight was filled with water when I got it out of (outside) winter storage.  Drilled a hole at the bottom using the smallest bit I had.

Did you drill hole on underneath side of lens or at bottom of the face of lens?
Thanks!

I drilled into the lens material at the bottom with a very small bit.

Bottom of face.  I actually pushed in on the lens to make sure all of the water had squirted out when I initially drilled the hole.  Haven't noticed any water in there since.

My question is what is the entry point of the water? Can't be good if the lens is sealed and the seal around the edge is good, is not the water coming from inside the wall?

That's a good question. I need to do some further inspection this evening.

One of ours filled.. I drilled a hole, after about 2 years, the bottom LEDs quit working, so I replaced it. I fiddled with the old one for a bit, never could find where/how the water got into it.

Thanks for all the responses. I took everyone's advice and drilled a small hole on underneath side of lens last night. The water drained and I see how the light holds up after some time. It working now

I've always wondered the same thing when I read these posts.  It should be a sealed unit.  But water is notorious for always finding a way in.
