Personally I don't do it anymore.  We don't drink from the RV water supply and the active ingredient in the pink antifreeze is in the alcohol family so it must kill stuff while it sits in the lines all winter.  That leaves the fresh water tank and it sits dry all winter.

Only once.  But we were camped next to a nuclear waste facility at the time so I chalked it up to that.

My thoughts are, I shower in it, and I cook with it, and I wash dishes with it. My dogs occasionally drink it. In any of those scenarios, the heebyjeebys can/might happen. So I like to know I did my part to stop them. My dogs having the heebiejeebies would be the worst I think, but it takes 10 minutes of interaction on my part to prevent it for sure...

BTW I cut open a potable water only hose this spring that had developed a couple kinks, and added hose repair couplings.. I took some pictures of what I found.. I will post them up...

OK, so I figure the hose gets filled with city water every time the plumbing of the pod does.. I always sanitize my hoses at the same time I am doing the pod. This is what I found, and what it looked like after sanitizing. I have to assume, the inside of the pods plumbing is the same..

Inside of hose..

My treatment apparatus..

The inside of the hose after sanitizing..

Gratuitous picture of repair coupling in action..

Thanks for sharing Furpod.  That was some nasty looking stuff inside that hose.  I wonder what's in  Techntrek's plumbing since he doesn't sanitize his pod? Shocked
