Sure, it's possible. Especially if braking was minimal. I point my gun right where the wheel meets the hub, and also at the brake drum. Consider calibrating your laser temp gum by measuring a known temp of something.

i just took a short two day trip (2 hour drive each way).  each time i checked, they red in the upper 70's or low 80's.  is this possible or was i obviously not hitting the right spot?  hogone

^^^hogone, establish a norm by taking a few measurements and then monitor. I would expect to see maybe 105 - 125. It may go up and down based on braking and brake performance. Look out it you start creeping near 200!


The idea is to be able to benefit from "Early Detection" outside of the normal operating range.
