Topic: 177 Outside Shower Instal Posted: 10 May 2015 at 5:43pm |
Thanks for the post and pics; good idea about the support wood on the inside. I'm getting ready to do mine in the next few weeks; I just bought this the other day:

Just completed the same project, pretty much exactly as presented by Furpod. Head to the beach soon, so this will be a very useful addition to the pod.
Thanks Furpod, for the detailed pics and the inspiration. (I saw this when you first posted it and it's been rolling around in the back of my mind since then.) First time working with Pex. I like it. I knew I would. Now that I have the tools I need something else to fix!

Not sure if these pics will be helpful, but our outside shower was installed in the same location. Make sure you add a string or wire to prevent the cover from falling in front of the heater exhaust!

we have the shower already just waiting to install. Anyone have the frame layout for 171? we will have to install on the back side under the kitchen sink area

Budward, If you search around on the two forums, someone did that, and put it in the rear storage compartment. The sink hookups for the garage in a G model would be perfect for that...

Good job! I am contemplating adding an outside shower to mine, had them on my last several RVs. I've really never needed them but one bad case of one of the dogs getting something on them and it could be priceless I was surprised also that FR didn't offer one. I have also thought about adding some quick connect ports, sort of like air hose couplers, somewhere underneath to be able to plug in an outside mixing valve and shower hose. That way in the rare case I'd need it I'd be ready without cutting holes.

BTW.. as a long overdo follow up.. the wiring things are "junction boxes"according to a RV mechanic friend of mine.. They build and wire the slideout on one line, the pod itself on another... and when they mate the two, that's the wiring "junction box"..
