Bought Our R-POD!!

So now all we need is a truck.... Search already underway. And we will definitely be combing through the forum for all the tips, suggested purchases, and helpful ideas to get us rollin.

We are soon to be empty nesters in Oregon. Former back packers, former expats, retired educators, semi hunter - fisher persons, dog owner and birdwatchers. We hope to use our pod for off season adventures throughout the PNW, and MAYBE attempt the great American road trip to visit friends across the country.

Can't wait!

We went from a 2006 Chevy Silverado with v6 to a Ford F-150 with v6 eco boost and what a difference. Still only 13 -14 mpg but can go  hill as fast as I want and not hold up traffic.

Hello fellow PNWesterners!
We were on the way to buying an F150 until we discovered we are garage challenged. So now we are looking at either the Silverado or a Colorado crew cab LB, V6 3.6L. Hope we're not the people holding you up going on the hills.

Just checked the SPECS on the Colorado Crew LB 3.6...309HP! I think that will get it done. Congratulations!

Status Update:
Did initial inspection of our r-pod 179. Dog liked it, so that was good enough.....jk. It stayed on the lot because we still have no truck to bring it home. The good news is we think we bought a truck. I say think, because it isn't here either. So, we're kind of limbo podders. Hopefully, by the end of the week, we will be true r-pod owers.

Question: Extended warranty through Compass?  Protective coating? Anyone have some experience with either of those?

Got time to wait, so....

Cheers!

Ken & Saundra

Those have been discussed on the Facebook Group within the last few months. The general consensus is the protective coating is a dealer scam to get more money. Using a quality wax will help maintain the finish of your Pod. Putting a cover on it when not in use will help as well. You can research/search here and on the Facebook Group for comments on an extended warranty also. Most don't go that route as well.

An interesting philisophical question.  Are you a camper if you don't have a camper or truck?  Big smile

Recent post from a member (link below) on a 6 year warranty for $657. I inherited the last 1 1/2 years of this same policy on my current camper and when I read over the documentation it seemed to be a very comprehensive policy.
