I have been out in -40 (C or F, take your choice) - but that was when I was young and stupid.  Two runs down the mountain and I had to head inside for a warm-up.

But *brrrr* -23F is a bit chilly for me now.  -25C is about as cold as I care to go.  Even then, I got a touch of frostbite on the end of my nose (underneath that mask) last weekend.

Tried to go ice fishing, but the holes kept freezing over and my bait was flash freezing from the wind, I hate when that happens!!

Got a surprise -6 F at my house this morning, the coldest I've seen in the 10 1/2 years we've been there.  And more single-digit temps coming up (happily in the positive and not negative territory).  Yay.
 
Outbound - nothing like a fast run down a mountain to point out where your cold weather gear needs improvement!  I prefer 2 skiis, though.  The one time I (and my friend) was on a snowboard, our first run down the mountain he fell and broke his hand and had to take a ride down in the ski patrol sled.  That was our last run.  In hindsight we were cocky teenagers who thought since we were expert skiiers, we could figure out the board on our own...
