Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Karen and I am a newbie to rv camping. Am looking for my first camper and will be looking at a RP182G tomorrow. I am looking for a low weight trailer and this one looks better quality than a Jaco I was shown. Something about them I do not like. Will let you know how it goes. Any advise is very welcome.

Karen here again. I have been reading posts. FYI: very helpful; however, I just came accross one that stated you need minimum 5000 lb capacity on your vehicle to pull a pod. Is that true? I have a 4500 lb capacity on my vehicle and was told this size and weight was safe. Please let me know before I buy. Thank you. Worried in Georgia.

Karen, ballpark figure folks use is: Add about 900lb, for travelling with 2 people that includes clothing, food, battery, propane, everything else that was not in your pod when you take it off the lot. But no water in any of the tanks. Also add body weight of anyone in the tow vehicle. Look at the weight of the pod you buying and then add these things together and you see how much safety room you have for towing.

Hi Karen, and welcome! The dynamics of proper balance between tow vehicle and travel trailer are far more complicated than considering tow capacity alone. At this point, my advice to you is to pause and take some time to learn and understand those dynamics as you will live with them long after the day of pulling the 182G away from the dealership.

Karen .....posting the make, model, etc. of your TV or even better, adding it to your signature line would be very helpful. There is a lot of knowledge & experience on the forum. Having the info on your TV would help them answer your question.
