Yup |
Sounds like what I would do just to avoid all of the other trouble, however, wrap the jaw of the pliers with some duct tape or something else to prevent marring the channel.

This may be our answer. Still waiting to hear from the dealership.

For sure we have the larger track. I'm fairly sure it is a track installation error.

| Marwayne,I'm still trying to understand this thing and I'm willing to accept the improperly installed or damaged large track answer. However, with your knowledge, would the larger keder even physically fit in the smaller track? If not, that would seem to solve the mystery.

I have read that for several years the large track has been used, if you have the large track, why is it an installation error? Was it damaged?

Podster - exactly. When it was installed they opened the track wider at several spots. And at those areas the dome tent falls out of the track. We know what the fix is, but we have to decide if we want to risk trying to fix it ourselves. If we take it to the dealership, even though it is a simple fix, it could sit there for a while. I know it's winter, but that's camping weather around here.

Very little can go wrong if you try to fix it yourself. Even if you clamp it down too much, you can easily open it back up a little.

CharlieM, no it will not. I had a problem with the dome, they sold me a dome for the 151, wish was to short, they also told me that they can't install the bigger track that it had to be installed by FR (bs).My reply, just get me the track I put it in myself,so I did.

Agreed, the use of vise grip pliers will eliminate any chance of over doing it by using a section of the channel that has the proper spacing to set the lock point + maybe a quarter or a half turn and then go over the problem areas with that setting.
That said of course, it's still a measure of trouble a new owner should not half to endure.
what to do, what to do....
Good luck to you MissyBuck, at least you have the problem identified now and the solution is in the works!
