Does anyone know of any drawings or prints that show the framing/support structure of our pods? I have the impression that the sidewalls have vertical stud-type supports but don't really know what the sloping front & rear have for support.  Or the roof.  Horizontal studs?

My objective: Am simply trying to get a better idea of where I can anchor weight-bearing things like shelving, cabinetry.  It's just a curiosity thing.

The sides are vertical aluminum studs and then framing pieces around the windows door as well.

The front and back are horizontal wood pieces following the curve.

There aren't any real "official" pictures or printouts of the framing per each model or anything, that is considered "secret" info proprietary to R-Pod and Forest River.

That video and some of the various plant tour and construction pics that you'll bump into around here pretty much show you all you need to know.

LOL, whats the big secret? I mean seriously, it's just another travel trailer. Are there hints of travel trailer espionage and spying going on out there, I doubt it. "Show you all you need to know" At the very least it seems responsible to me that a wiring diagram be made available. This is just another chapter in FRs poor offering in their product documentation to owners. Owners want just a basic idea of how the structure is fitted to help with all of the exciting mod projects. It seems reasonable to me that FR would be able to listen to the owners of their product  and answer the mail by offering some BASIC information without disclosing trade secrets, if there are any.

The R-Pod has been copied before.

Just saying that's why Forest River doesn't want us posting pictures of the construction process or won't be providing wire schematics or CAD drawings or things like that.

Thanks for the info, Travis.  As for FR not wanting to publish details, I can certainly understand that.  That would be a level of customer service that's way beyond what's reasonable (IMO).  But, I doubt that the absence of factory drawings is much of a deterrent to piracy. Reverse engineering wouldn't be much of a problem with a relatively simple contraption like a pod.  And then, there's the Chinese way. Angry

There is also an issue with people modding their pods and then blaming FR because they told them where a stud was, and they hung a 200 pound cabinet on the wall.. and the wall folded first time they hit a big bump.

Seriously? I can get a wire diagram for any vehicle (or any other piece of equipment) on the planet but not the POD because it's to much to ask? I have to respectfully disagree.

You can get a wiring diagram for your Ranger because Chilton's reverse-engineered it.  Ford won't give it to you because it is proprietary information.

FR won't give you one for the pod for the same reason.  Even if they would, it has been proven over and over on this forum that the wiring can be different on the same model in the same year, from the same factory.  Personally if I want to know where the wiring is run for an outlet, I'll trace the wire.  Excluding the wiring for the lights in the ceiling you can get behind everything to see where stuff goes.

Reverse engineered, nonsense...Ford supplies information to third parties like ALLDATA for technicians and customers benefit. I've been using it for years to repair my own. Of course it can be traced, but that beside the point.
