    Posted: 30 Sep 2013 at 1:02pm
Good day.  In our 182G, we have a Jensen stereo that has "A" "B" and "C" options for turning on and off different speakers.  "A" controls the indoor speakers, "B" controls the speakers in the garage, yet "C" is open for now.  We would like to have speakers on the door side of the R*Podimus so we can hear the music better outside.  Garage music goes backwards and not easily heard from the side of the camper...inside speakers are also harder to hear outside.  Has anyone exercised their "C" option and installed speakers on the door side of their RPOD anywhere?  Lessons learned?

For a few years we were running speakers out the window which I had connected to our C channel.  This year we put these in.  Lessons learned, uhm, make sure you don't cut through one of the wall studs!

Where we put ours there are two framing pieces that got cut through.  I was not happy about that but they are not structurally important.

Love the speakers on the side, this would be a great factory option!  Not sure I have the confidence to cut holes in our new 182 yet but maybe some day.  The problem I ran into is when we use speakers B in the garage the control in the garage won't let me adjust the volume, have to go inside to the main unit. Any hints on what I'm doing wrong?

The new pods do have outside speakers with the Crown package. Unfortunately they are way up high on the side. I like Moosepods location better.

Sorry not hints on that one.  We've always been able to control volume, mute, and the other functions that are on that panel in the garage just fine.  Only thing I'd even suggest would be to pull the stereo out and make sure it is connected properly.

I've heard many a time that speakers have been reversed, or on different channels etc before!

We moved our TV mount to the outside wall there as well, and when you're sitting in the dome watching a movie at night that's the perfect spot for our speakers to be.

We have our TV mount on the wall outside there as well.  So if we are watching a movie at night the speakers are in the perfect spot for our liking.

So, on the Garage speakers can you only play garage bands?

What kind of speakers did you use? I would love to find some outdoor surface mount speakers to replace the factory outside speakers. The factory speakers sound worse than a 1967 transistor radio.
