Bought our first RPod we went for the 182G with outdoor kitchen and bunk beds. Had it about 30 days now 3 trips to our local Louisiana state parks. First two trips were bad. A/C didn't work right - not to mention noisy. After 2nd trip they discovered that there was something wrong with the A/C unit, got a new a/c installed - warranty. Now it cools. Still noisy though. We already started doing modifications for storage. Bought the bikes, generators, r-dome, etc. Even bought an over the tongue storage setup to hold the generators - by the way for the price ($300) well worth it. As soon as I get more familiar with how to post pictures I will post some. I love this forum. I have found a lot of answers to questions I had about our R-Pod.

I agree that the AC is quite noisy. You do get used to it. It's amazing how quiet it is from the outside. Maybe they put them in backwards.

If the AC is too noisy when you sleep trying keeping the fan setting at Low or Hi when you sleep. It's less of a startle in the middle of the night when the AC kicks on!

Living in Oregon, we don't use the A/C often, but it's nice to have when we do need it. How about sleeping with ear plugs. Safe Travels.

Our solution: Take our grandchildren with us. You never hear the A/C over the other commotion.....

Thanks for all the helpful hints - but have tried all the suggestions. Earplugs fall out, humming still comes through the walls, grandkids stayed on third trip. Even my husbands LOUD snoring didn't help the A/C noise. I've been told I have extra sensitive hearing. But not to frett - I'll still pod....

As they say in your part of the country, get "more better" ear plugs. They do work. Safe Travels.

We leave our fan on low as mentioned above, that helps. I've been seriously considering swapping mine out with the Coleman Polar Cub A/C, as discussed here: http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=1433&PID=32980&title=possible-replacement-for-the-a-c#32980
