After spending too much time parked, we are finally taking our Pod camping again.  We have not camped since October 2011.  The biggest reason for the hiatus was my 85 year old Mother who lived with us.  With her advancing Alzheimer disease and propensity for falling, I could not leave her alone for any length of time and being an only child kept me home bound as well.  I finally was able to get her into a nice assisted living facility and can now breathe  a bit.  We will be heading to our old reliable Kings Mountain State Park on Friday afternoon and will return home Monday.  We hope we remember how to set up everything...we may be a bit rusty but I think it will come back to us rather quickly.

You'll be able to go from zero to podding in no time flat.  It'll all come back in no time.

So happy to hear things have taken a turn for the better, do like you said and breathe a bit easier when out on your trip and enjoy!

Smile

I am so glad to hear that your mom is in a good place to live now, and that you are heading back out in the Pod.  You two are the reason we bought ours last year after seeing yours up close 2 years ago when you were such generous hosts to show us around it and talk to us about it.  We've stayed at KM quite a few times since we got ours, and it hasn't changed at all ... hope you both have a blast!

Glad to hear you have some 'breathing room'. I haven't camped at Kings Mt Sp but I've driven through it while working in the area. It's a beautiful place.

UPDATE:  We did well on our first trip in so long...only forgot to take a couple of things (mostly food related: mayonaise, ketchup).  Had some real nice neighbors who played corn hole with us.  It rained Sunday afternoon and a lot Sunday night, but we prepped for it.  We have a big rubbermaid tub we store the dome in so it wasn't a problem to shove it in there wet Monday morning when we broke camp. Everything inside the dome stayed nice and dry.  We reattached the dome when we got home to dry out and everything is all packed back up ready to go again.  We are having some troubles out of our fridge which I will post in another thread to see if I can get some feedback about that.  Just wanted to say what a nice time we had and are so glad to be back in the groove of things.

Don't we all forget some sort of food each time we camp?

Can't say how many times we've had dogs with no ketchup or burgers without buns sometimes because we forgot them!

LOL

Glad you're back out there.

We tossed a bunch of condiment packets from fast food visits in the camper.. so we have the basics covered always..

Dog without ketchup..? that's like a s'more without marshmallow.. unpossible.
