I used command strips for the magazine rack and DH used small screws for the wooden shelves. Probably 1/2 inch or less. Command strips would not hold the stained shelves. They kept coming loose. DH was nervous about putting screws in the wall, but I pointed out that the valance was attached with screws. After that, he was less nervous but we were both very careful about measuring where to put the screws.

The exterior walls are a sandwich of 1/8" plywood, styrofoam, more plywood and the exterior fiberglass shell.  The foam is just under 1" thick.
Some folks use plastic expandable anchors for every hanging item.  I have found that for under three to five pound objects, like closet maid baskets, those white wire baskets and similar things, using 1/2" x#8 sheet metal screws (coarse thread) to mount works well.  I use wire or cable clamps to hold wire baskets.
A lot of folks use Command strip products to mount to the walls.

How have you attached items to the walls of your Rpod?  Particularly the outside walls.  Is it o.k. to drill into and screw items to the outside walls?  Do I need to use anchors?  Any ideas will be helpful.

Today's Mods. Little by little, it is feeling more like our pod everyday.

A little cubby cut into the curb-side dinette bench to allow access.

A spice rack purchased from Ikea, stained and mounted above the valance. On the right is an acrylic magazine holder to hold paper, pens, magazines, etc. This was mounted in our previous RV and I don't remember where I bought it. Likely Office Depot.

Here is the one on the street side. Left a space to hang a picture or something...

Here is the street side shelf with containers hanging on them. The containers were also purchased at Ikea for 99 cents. The are designed to hang from a rail to hold kitchen stuff, but they also fit on the spice rack.

I think we all have had the "short drain hose" problem at one time or another, usually on a crowded holiday weekend. We solved it by carrying 2-15' hoses, stored in a 6 1/2' long, white PVC 5" square tube,(with caps and reflectors) mounted to the tongue through the same holes as the original short factory tube. It took one day to build and total cost was about $70. We even put a piece of modified white PVC gutter inside that acts like a drawer, allowing us to "lay" the hose in place rather than to trying to compress it by pushing it in the tube. By the way we also carry 2-25 foot fresh water hoses (and a 12' hose, and "Y", to clean out the black water holding tank)along with a 25', #10 wire extension for the "shore power". We have never had to stretch out both drain hoses or electric cables, but we did need both fresh water hoses once. Sorry I can't send any pictures, pod is under the cover for another month or two.

I'm hoping this posts okay. I resized the photo with shrinkphoto.com. Removed the spring-loaded table leg to allow for more storage room under dinette bed. This will always be made into a bed since we cook/eat/clean up outside.

Edit: added the picture - techntrek

Welcome.  Good idea on the table legs.  I may do that (temporarily) for a trip we are taking this summer, where I know it won't be converted to table mode the whole time - and storage room will be critical.

First official PodMod: We removed the spring-loaded table legs to allow for more convenient storage under dinette bed. It will always be set up as a bed, so not concerned about table. First trip in the new Pod is scheduled for first weekend in April. Approve
