For those that have installed a battery kill switch, where did you install it? On the battery box/cover itself? Or somewhere in the Pod? Trying to figure out the best place to put one on ... the one I purchased is a simple plastic key insert'n'turn type that is moisture proof. Thanks.

I'm lazy, I didn't install it, I just put it in the line on the battery and cover it up with the battery cover, there is room under. I thought about installing on the plastic cover, again, just lazy. Might do it this spring. Just need to drill a hole.

I'm with Doc, I just put one on top of the battery and it fits underneath the existing cover. Here's the one I got: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001HSBW74/ref=wms_ohs_product

I took the time to install it on the top of the battery cover. Since my cover installs with 6 screws it seemed to make sense. It was a bit of a pain to cut into the cover and mount but it looks and works great. I looped some small nylon rope thru key so it wouldn't walk.

This is one of those things that I have thought about but have not done. It is so easy to plug into the barn or light pole to charge the battery. Now you have got me to thinking again. Goose

I store my pod offsite (no power outlet) so rather than have it drain down (from active detectors) I use the switch. In the winter (now) I pull the battery and leave it on battery minder in my garage.

I took another route, and installed a weatherproof fuse holder just outside of the battery box. Its an extra layer of safety and acts as a battery disconnect.
