Topic: Canadian Roundup Posted: 31 Aug 2010 at 8:04am |
Don't know how to start a roundup.......... While you are in Ohio for
the roundup next month maybe you can get some info on how it is
organized, best type of campground to stay in , etc. Hope to hear from
you then. I take it you are from the Hamilton area?
We live in Essex, near Windsor ON. One of my sons lives just outside Hamilton in Dundas

You can post the details of a roundup in this sub-forum, just include the dates at the top when you start a new topic. It would probably be best to contact the owner of the campground (if private) to see if they can hold a block of a half-dozen sites that are together for you. Might not be possible at a provincial park.
olphart, love your avatar! I'm a space buff, love reading up on the moon shots.

We're having a NorthEast roundup this year in PA. A bit far from BC, but Canadians are always invited :)
We were originally planning an Ontario Roundup by the Thousand Islands but didn't get much response. :(

I don't see any recent posts to having a Canadian roundup. Did anyone ever organize one? We are new to camping again and recently purchased a 2011 rpod 177. We are on Lake Superior north of Sault Ste. Marie. There are quite a few provincial parks north of here. Pancake Bay has large sites at the far end of the camp ground for groups up to 40 people on each site. It has a beautiful sand beach and hiking trails. Just to put it out there to anyone.

North shore would almost be half way across Canada but It is 40 hours of driving from me. I think if we are going to do Canadian Roundups they will have to be regional like they do south of the border. The Furthest I could drive would be southern Ontario that's 15 hours.

We're NE US but go up to visit family in the GTA yearly without the r.pod. With the r.pod, we can realistically go as far west as Algonquin due to time and TV restrictions, but it will have to be something planned far in advance as it would most likely be a multi-week trip.

Just adding to the conversation... we're in NB and would be interested in a Canadian get-together. Not sure about this year (we don't take delivery until Monday - hahaha!) but would definitely be interested another year! :-) We're in Plaster Rock, NB... about 10 hours from Ottawa, about 15 to Toronto.
