You need to have the tools to break loose the factory bolt.  Either an extension for your heavy duty socket wrench or a pneumatic impact wrench (which I used).  I also made sure that I had a hydraulic jack and a couple of jack stands to safely hold the Pod up.  I am not a mechanic...but it only took me about 1/2 hour to install the risers and then a few minutes to put the wheels back on.
Having sturdy enough tools makes all the difference in the world.

We were at Collier's yesterday to measure the pod for curtains, and they had a 177 parked behind ¡Podtástic!  I took some pictures, too, just so that you can really see the difference between our pod with the riser and the 177 without it.

It's going to make dumping so much easier.

i just got the axel risers from Brandon, she wanted the last 4 of the VIN to get me the correct risers. I am handy with tools, will try to install them when i have the rpod on my property in march, i will take some pictures to post them and if i screw up something. I dont have a impact wrench, so i am not sure how long before i can break the factory bolt...i am assuming loctite should go back on the bolt when putting it back together?

Loctite won't be necessary as the supplied bolts are self locking.

In the Riser pdf. instructions, FR mentions "adding splices if necessary" to the electric brake lines, but nobody on the form has ever mentioned having to "add splices if necessary" to the brake lines !!!!
 
Is this statement by FR, just a CYA, or do you actually have to adjust the brake lines after installing the Riser ???

When I did ours last Fall there was no need to lengthen the brake lines. I think it just a CYA. I love my risers. Not as attractive as I'd like but the hassle free in/out of the driveway and other uneven surfaces is absolutely worth it!

I had to clip one zip tie on each side to allow the brake wires to lengthen some.  No need to actually extend the wires.  NOTE, I found my brake wires on one side had gotten between the axle and frame and at some point I hit something that took up all of the suspension travel, which pinched the wires completely in half.  I made sure the wires took a slightly different route when I was done adding the risers.

Thanks for the info. Today I asked the dealer where the pod is getting a toilet repair to put in the axle risers. They said it would raise the frame about 3 inches. Your photos indicate that is about right..?

The risers for an rPod with a Lippert axle like mine are 3 1/2".  Apparently some rPods have different axles so they may vary I suppose.

We just bought a year old pod 177 with a dome tent. Haven't taken the tent out of the bag yet, but I just ordered axle risers put in today. Now I begin to wonder...will the raised pod make the tent too short so that it doesn't fit well.

Anyone have the tent and risers? What is your experience?
