Topic: Hello from Brandon, MB Posted: 07 Feb 2012 at 4:01pm |
We are the proud owner of a 2012 173T. We haven't picked it up yet, but have been in and looked at it...it looks great! We're really looking forward to camping this summer. One question. It's no problem hooking them up to full serviced sites? Just the sewer hook-up was the only question I was wondering about. I assume it's no problem, but just checking. Looking forward to getting some feedback.

Welcome. When you have full hookups you can attach the sewer hose, but don't leave the black water valve open. It needs to fill up so it dumps fully - leaving the valve open will leave solids that will dry up and cause problems later. You can leave the gray water valve open, but close it a shower or two before your black tank is full. Then dump the black, close it, dump the gray to flush the hose.

Congratulations! I know you will enjoy your new pod as much as we do ours (bought last winter). You will really be anticipating spring now! This is a great place to ask all the questions you can run into. People on here are so helpful. B

Thanks! We had a Trillium for a few years and really liked it, but wanted something a little more mtce free, so decided to upgrade. Did a lot of research and the r.pods seemed to be by far the best choice. We'd read quite a bit on this forum before making up our mind as well. Now...just waiting for the snow to go!

Podsible is right, that little furnace is a little noisy, but will run you out, crack a window, even if its one toothpick wide, crack the vent in the shower, no fan and it will help, I noticed that if you barely crack a window and turn the fan on low the window will whistle, so we turned off the fan and was a snug as two bugs in a rug. small electric heater is good also, we ran a little 1500 watt electric heater with a thermostat last fall at Clifty Falls State Park near Madison Indiana, when we got up in the morning the ground and trees and our pod was white with a hard cover of frost, it was cozy warm inside. I don't know why, but a chilly morning sure does make breakfast taste better.

Yea, I just got my pod, and I live in Brandon too. You have to switch the hose back and forth from your gray and black tank to dump. Where did you buy it? From north view campers? What are you pulling it with?

I love your name. I am thinking about "Turtlepod," and putting turtle stickers on my pod. Your thoughts?
