The husband said he could not believe how I set my mind to a working solution. It might not be normal path, but I needed to do it so I can do it alone.  If I got up on that ladder one time I got up on it 50Embarrassed

I like your solution, I think they should all have a pull cord like yours!  Can you post a picture?

Funny. My husband said I need to suggest to Bear Creek that this be done, but his awning is so nicely made, such a pleasant man to work with, such Prompt service, I am a bit backward when it comes making suggestions of that sort.

I know for me, height challanged as I am, this works. If the pulling cord is too short I am pulling down instead of a straight shot out. So I just made it  long enough. Dang thing works. Now I don't know if there are any such problems with the r-dome, have not worked with one. Those that have them seem to not complain about any one thing as I did.  Maybe over kill, but I have the silicone spray and a rag with me and just apply a bit to the rubber insert, slides great.

PS I will try a picture after I get home today.
I guess all I need to photo is how I did the corners.
Going camping tomorrow also, will a picture of some of the working, if I can.

a closer look of reinforced corner with grommet. I was able to do this with my very old Singer and the heavy duty needle. Went over twice

I like your fix here is a awning modifications I did on Tri-Pod.

I like the awning we purchased and it is easy for me to put up with just a two steep ladder. But I had trouble getting the front square and tight. So I added a cross pole at the front.

This was an easy fix, I purchased a piece of 1/2" electrical conduit and cut it 8" shorter than the distance between the gourmets. Then I purchased two aluminum turn buckles. Removed the screw eye bolts from both ends and drove the turn buckle into each end of the conduit with a leather mallet.

I originally was going to drill a hole in the side and put a pop rivet in to hold it in place, but the pressure fit of the turn buckle will not allow it to come out. Then I screwed the original threaded eye bolts in each end and adjusted until the eye lined up with the grommets.

Now when I put up the awning I place the cross piece on the end of the pole, then the awning grommet and then the rope guide over the top. You could use an old tent pole if you had one.

One of the advantages is you can slant the front of the awning by moving one of your upright polls back a little and if it rains in the night the awning drains perfectly.
The pole will fit in the pass through so it is not a problem to carry.

Looks good, Tri-Pod! A good compromise between the full blown dome and no cover.
Boy, mm, you should think about going into business....I think we will do similar with the r-dome - the first time we put ours up, I used a Vice-grip to pull with and Chris pushed from the back end!!

I like the looks of what you have done. Too much work for me, I am challanged with the doing of it. And Podsible, there is no "we", "ours" to my Pod. I do all of it myself, so have to keep it at what I CAN do!
But is exciting to see Pods in the wild. Since I already have a screen house that I like to use (keeping the bug bites down), the awning is for shading the door, protecting from the rain if I want door open. All I do to let water off is to let the pole down a bit so that the awning is at a slight slant. That worked with our motorcoaches.
