Yes, we got a big, black extension cord that threads on to the pod and connects to the campsite power. Ours was under the pod in the storage area when we picked up the pod.

That is the main power cord you plug into the 30 amp service for shore power.  It should be standard for every pod I would think.

on the forest river website under the spec of the rpod, there is this item "Detachable power cord - 28'". Have you receive it?.

Double-ouch.  Any chance they'll do a 6- month lease?  You could use them during camping season and use someplace out of the way but much cheaper the other 6 months of the year.

Ouch, that hurts! Guess I won't complain about the $900 Tom is spending to give our Pod a home in the backyard.

In 10 days i'm gonna pick up my rp171!!Thumbs UpHug
this week-end i made a reservation for an exterior storage.
 Pros : I can fill up my water tank, have access to electricity to my fridge and at 1/2 miles there is a Pump-out Station from the city.Big smile
Cons : 90$ per monthCry

One more step I add when I sanitize my system is after pulling the bleach water into each tap I add more water to the tank so the bleach can get to the top of the tank.

Something we've done several times if it gets nice suddenly in early spring and we head out earlier than expected, I'll fill up the water tank and use it for showers, hand washing, and the toilet.  I just won't use it for drinking or cooking.  We'll take along a few gallons of water from our tap for that.  One year I kept forgetting to sanitize and we did that for several trips until mid-summer.

We flushed our tank twice to get rid of the bleach smell and then it was fine for drinking. If you don't have time for all this before you go consider ignoring the entire water system and just camp as if you were tenting. At least you will have a dry bed and a stove and refrigerator. This is what we did when we went out for one night direct from the dealership.

The vinegar step isn't necessary for sanitizing, only bleach.  The vinegar just gets reduces the chlorine bleach smell.  You may want to bring along bottled water to drink if you don't like the strong smell of bleach in your water.

Just:
- 1/2 fill your fresh water tank with water
- Mix 1/2 cup bleach (use basic bleach only; don't use special 'splashproof' bleach or any other enhanced type of bleach) with water in a large (approx 1/2 gallon) container, then pour this mixture into your fresh water tank
- Continue filling your tank until its full
- Turn on your water pump and then, one by one, open every tap in your trailer until you smell the bleach.  Flush the toilet 2 or three times too.  Turn off your water pump.
- Wait 4 hours
- Drain your fresh water tank.  Fill it again with fresh water, turn on your water pump and flush the bleach mixture from your taps.
