Welcome! Yes, either using the New Posts button, or just scrolling down and opening each sub-form that shows a new post is what I use, too.
We prefer our EZ-Ups most of the time, easier to put up. We'll put up the dome if we know it will be raining all weekend or for week-long trips no matter what the weather.

We have a Bassett and in the past while tent camping we just used a trolley line between 2 trees but since we've upgraded to a RP-177 Bogie probably deserves his own EZ Up with a pen beneath. By the way, your conure probably needs a buddy. How would you like a slightly used (30 year old) yellow napped amazon? Tobasco is his name and screaming is what he does. He'll probably only live to 60 so that's only another 30 years of waking up the neighbors. I can't imagine taking him camping with us. We'd be thrown out of the park within 4 hours.

Ha ha--that's so funny about your amazon! Our conure used to have an Amazon buddy but she died 3 years ago, so now we take Luna (the conure) with us when we go camping so she's not alone. She's surprisingly not very loud at the campgrounds, and so far we haven't had a complaint. Your Tobasco sounds like quite the bird!
I've seen a couple of people mention the EZ Up, so that sounds like a possibility. We'll just have to figure out a pen that's big enough for all 4 doggies but not that heavy and big to carry.

Hi Margobun,
Welcome from us here in Edmonton.
We just took our pod and dome out for its first real test on our Victoria day long weekend. Regarding the dome, we had it up in under 15 minutes in spite of having to check the instructions a couple of times. It was worth its weight in gold as far as I am concerned.
Mosquitoes were bad in the evening and it kept them out. The dogs soon learned they would not be bitten on their big snoots inside the dome. The dogs are both bigger than an cocker spaniel and smaller than a shepherd. (One is our Sally and the other belongs to our kids who were camping beside us.) Sally can be told "stay in the tent" and she will, but we kept a long leash on Kala who is a runner when she gets loose.
The sun was really bright Sunday morning so we lowered the front flaps to keep it shadier inside until about noon when we rolled them up. At 8 p.m. we lowered those flaps and zipped up everything when the storm hit...Sally stayed outside in the "tent" (she knows that word) while Kala and the four adults went inside to play Tri-ominoes for a couple of hours. It rained all night which we did not mind as Alberta is a tinder box this spring. In the morning we cooked pancakes on the Coleman stove in the dome with the upper front flaps open and the eaters sitting inside the pod nice and dry at the table. Inside the dome was still surprisingly dry too with just a couple of trickles across the ground.
I am really glad we bought it and we will put it up anytime we are staying for more than just over night. Regarding your dogs, I think it would be okay to keep them in if you were there with them. If you went out they could figure out how to get out in a few seconds. Our dogs actually asked to go in one afternoon (mosquitoes) and the other afternoon our grandson, age four, had a two hour nap in there on his air mattress as their tent was too hot and grandpa was napping in the Pod. So that is how it worked for us. We were really pleased with the whole set-up except for mileage

Thanks for the nice welcome! It sounds like the dome is a real plus for you and your doggies. I would sure love it if there was another podder in New Mexico and we could see one at work close up!
