Topic: TP Holder Posted: 25 May 2011 at 10:32am |
I actually do mean the shower curtain rod; see picture, below. We actually like our vinyl closet, by the way. When we're driving, it hangs in the bathroom, but then we pull it out and hang it on the hooks on the back of the bathroom door. We use it for clothes and towels and stuff.

I found this at a marine supply store and mounted it inside the door.

I think she means the rod that hung that useless thing-a-ma-jiggy (the vinyl hanging closet -- you know, the one we all got rid of).

margobun, I'm not picturing what you described. I don't think I could thread a toilet paper roll onto the shower curtain bar.

I have a rope that I hang the toilet paper on around the shower controls.

We put ours on the shower curtain bar--we just put the bar right through the hole in the cardboard roll.

I found a simple plastic toilet paper holder with an adhesive back at WalMart. Its installed on the wall behind the toilet, close to the inside corner, up fairly high (about the top of my head while sitting on the commode). Essentially, you reach up and to your left while sitting on the commode to find the toilet paper (note: we have a RP-171, so our bathroom is located on the curb side with the toilet facing the front of the trailer).
Its an odd placement, I agree. But, it doesn't jut out into the space where you're trying to move around. Its also well protected behind the pulled-out shower curtain, so the toilet paper doesn't have to be removed while showering.
RVers Tip: slightly squish/flatten the toilet paper roll into an oval before installing in the holder. That way, the toilet paper won't unravel while the trailer is bumping along the road on the way down the highway.

I've got a roll of paper on a self-adhesive toilet roll holder I attached to the wall under the sink (Just have to remember to take it out when showering.) I also have 2 spare rolls that sit side-by-side in a rectangular plastic box with a lid (so it's waterproof). I got the box from the dollar store, and that sits on the floor to one side at the back of the toilet. The box was the perfect size for 2 rolls.

We attached a full length mirror on the inside of the bathroom door. On either side of the mirror we put small cup hooks. TP is on a tiny bungee cord attached to the cup hooks. Keeps it handy and since the TP is resting against the mirror it doesn't unroll while traveling. We did the paper towels with a bungee as well in the kitchen.
