Thank You so much for the video!  It was very helpful!!  The silicon spray made all the difference in the world.  Hopefully it will get easier as we get better at setting the dome up!

Wind gust of 35 - 40 mph and an R-Dome don't mix particularly well.  Below that it seems to handle it pretty well.  R-dome stayed up but had a slight bend in one of the roof support poles.

Rain won't be a problem, but like any RV awning you should take it down in high wind.

Pawpod, you really are an asset to this forum!  I'm a visual learner so those videos on setting up the R-dome are VERY helpful.
 
The R-dome seems so lightweight -- does anyone know how it holds up in a heavy rain? 
 
I've not set mine up yet so I haven't made up my mind whether I want to use the R-Dome or whether I had rather use a screenhouse set up a few feet from the camper.  Any opinions on this anyone?  Ying Yang  (I have read the previous comments on the subject in the forum.)

Thanks for the info, Craig.
I did mean the plastic edge, even though I used "fabric" (sounded more knowledgable than "whatchamytecallitWink")
 
What I really wanted to find out was the order of assembly..starting at the POD's C rail to the last extention going away from the POD....OR in the opposite direction...i.e. from the very left panels, working towards the POD, with the plastic edge being put on last.
 
does that make sense to anyone?
 
It appears that you work it from rail to tail...as I thought it should be done.Embarrassed

SweatPeaPod, this is what I do:

The plastic edge of the RDOME goes in the c-channel on the R-POD, not any fabric.  Once its in place, I assemble the segments of the long pole and feed it through the RDOME fabric.  I then fasten the strap that runs long the front-bottom of the RDOME and carefully bend the pole.  I then go inside the RDOME and install the three rafter poles.  Once everything is in place, I fasten the fabric snaps to the side of the R-POD and drive in the stakes.  Finally, I stake in the two front guy ropes to keep the front stable in the wind.

I tried to put my dome up with the help of a friend, and going by the directions sent with it. Got to the point of running the edge through the rail.  Had to stop. lots of screws obstucting a smooth passage. Also, getting the fabric to the rail made it very difficult to set the rail fabric.  I feel like I am working backward.
 1: Does it sound right to raise the furthest panel first and work towards the POD?  My mind tells me to set the rail fabric first then work out..not the way the directions say!!Confused
 
 Any help will be appreciated

Thank you, I will try the suction cups 1st. I just don't relish drilling into the pod skin, teeth I don't mind, however.
