Topic: Painting fenders Posted: 25 Apr 2011 at 3:04pm |
I was wondering if anyone out there has painted their fenders ? I'm thinking of doing it because to me they just don't look right. I'll use a self etching primer and try to get a top coat to match as close as possible. I'll post pictures after I've done it ( only if I like the results, if not forget we ever had this conversation )

Haven't heard of anyone doing it but - why not? You can post a full how-to with your pics in case someone else is interested.

Billy Bob with the MPG painted his fenders to match his truck. Look for his post on rpod nation. But the MPG fenders I believe may have been fiberglass or plastic not metal. David

Well, I like the way the fenders look, but that's just me. I think you should paint yours exactly the way that suits you. We'll be looking forward to seeing your pics of a job well done !

Since the 'pod is mostly white, maybe make one fender red and the other blue?

Looks great! I struggled with keeping the aluminum fenders looking good. You've come up with a great solution.

Wow, that looks great -- like it was SUPPOSED to be that way. Good job!

Yes, very nice. Did you prep the fender first with something like an acid wash, or just steel wool?
