I would have been out there with the chain saw. I have cleared a bunch this winter off the roads and will be burning it next year for heat. Been late to a few things as I have been filling the truck with wood.

I was driving home from Gainesville yesterday when I saw a large dead tree
fall all the way over the highway. Nobody got hit because a
train had stopped the traffic from the other direction. Three men
hopped out to try to pull the tree off the road. They couldn't even
budge it. So I pulled over into the ditch and yelled at them to grab my
winch line. I got it all the way off the road with the winch without
much of a traffic hold up. I finished the last couple of feet by
pulling it in 4Lo reverse.
The funny part was while I was rewinding my winch line a lady drove by saying she called it in and the county was sending a TEAM to take care of the tree!  It took all of 5 minutes to get it completely off the road. The county "team" would have had the road closed for at least a half hour.Terry |
