Not to be overly dramatic, but I'm stumped. Ive been finding little piles of this stuff, mostly in the storage compartment from time to time but most recently on this step (which is a new mod, btw..lol). I may be dating myself but the consistency is fluffy, soft,,,,,almost as if you took what they used to fill old bean bag chairs with and shredded in a blender. Any ideas (sorry, posted a couple pics twice)

Chewed up foam insulation mixed with mouse poop? If so, the smell should be unmistakable. If that's what it is, get some mouse bait and/or traps set in there before you have a whole multi generation mouse convention. And remove any food items. I hate mice.

That does look like the foam that is part of the "sandwich" that makes the floor of an Rpod. I would agree with og that it looks like mice have found a way in.

You're gonna have to find out the source of that soon. What does it smell like? Looks like shredded mattress foam or insulation of some type....what is directly over it? Is there a hole, or is it being dragged to those spots and left in piles?
"I hates those meeses to pieces!" Or whatever is doing that...

A few gopher snakes will take care of the problem in no time. We had a mouse get into our garage. A few days later I found a gopher snake had come in for lunch. No more mouse.
With a tear in my eye, I had to ask the snake to leave and gently escorted him out. My wife doesn't like snakes.

Yeah a kingsnake will make quick work of a mouse....I dont mind seeing the snakes out on my lot, I've seen a few but when I found one INSIDE my house, I trapped it in a box and took it a few blocks away and released it. I had friends tell me to keep it around, well.....NO....it knows its way into my residence, AND I think I'd rather have the mice!

My cat enjoys watching me try to catch mice. That's what she does...watch!
![]() BTW, I just cleared a mouse nest and family easier than I thought. They set up camp under my outside Bilco doors in cellar stairwell. I mixed up a few crushed moth balls with half gallon water with some dishwashing soap. Poured in down the stairs. Next day they were gone. Would definitely work in your pod! Of course, you might have to wait a couple of years to sleep in it, but there won't be any mice!! |

No gopher snakes in the East. Not sure if there are any mouse eating snakes in VA or not.
Personally, I find either cats or warfarin to be effective, but not at the same time.
