Introduction to the Merry Widow

Hello everyone, I'm a recent widow who used to travel in style in a huge gorgeous Fifth Wheel with Diesel truck. That was my former life before everything changed last year.

I hail from Ontario Canada, where there aren't too many R-Pods on the road yet. I bought mine in the spring of this year, and used it several times this summer and fall. I adore my R-Pod. It's perfect for me. As well, I love the oohs and aahs from pedestrians as I pull up to traffic signals!

I never towed anything in my life until I bought this awesome unit. I tow it with my Honda CRV, a four cylinder, and it tows easier than I ever imagined. It's now winterized and stored for the winter. I don't dare think of taking it to Florida yet, maybe next year when I have another year of experience under my belt!

So happy you have joined the group.  My husband and I bought our first camper this fall and had to put it right into winter storage ( Iowa). We have never towed anything before, but feel confident it will all work out.  This winter we just have to satisfy ourselves with buying fun things for the camper and planning trips for next year!

Originally posted by techntrek Welcome.  The best thing you can do is "go back to driving school".  Hitch up and head for the local school or shopping parking lot.  Pick a spot and practice backing in - eventually it will be natural.  Also I recommend aiming your side mirrors slightly down at first so you can see the 'pod wheels in the lower edge of your mirror.  This will help you squeeze through tight spots in traffic until you get used to the width.
