I use "Photobucket", it's very easy to use once you've done it a couple of times. Download your picture, click on edit, choose your size, then click on box for "IMG Code", it copies link, go to your box where you want to put it and paste.

If you are using Windows, try this program for reducing the size of image files.
After installation, load the image file and select Image at the top of the window and then select Resize/Resample. You can then select from several options. After making a selection, save the result and check its size to see if further changes are needed.

I have no idea? Sure didn't have to do anything to it---musta been the right size when I originally got it?

I just took a look at the avatar upload page, are you sure that... "Images [are] of the type, jpg, jpeg, gif, png, and have a maximum file size of 50KB"?

I sized/cropped my avatar to 1" x 1" at 100 pixels/inch in Photoshop CS3, but any similar program, such as Microsoft Paint or FastStone Image Viewer (excellent, free download too) will do the job for you.

HuronSailor, Yizit, Tillind. To name 3, how did you do your Avatar? Get it sized to fit.

I have been working for hours trying to upload a new avatar, not one that in list. I keep getting it too big.
Was easy to post picture in body of post ,but the avatar size I do not seem to get small enough.
Anyone know what size an avatar is in pixels? If you have posted one other than those supplied, would you please let me know what yours is sized to. Thanks
